A Japanese Scroll Garden





An unused slice of land between house and fence line was reborn as a Japanese-inspired garden to be viewed from the windows of two bedrooms and a study.

Like an Asian scroll painting, the garden offers a series of landscape pictures: a serene water basin and lantern, mounded hills of azaleas and gardenias, and rugged stones and pine trees. Imported bamboo screening on the fence makes it very private.
